What We Do As Kiwanians for Our Children and for Our Community!

For over 80 years, the Kiwanis Club of Canandaigua has been an active and benevolent part of the community in Canandaigua, NY. Perhaps you may even consider becoming a member and helping us in our mission to serve the children of the world. Membership benefits are numerous, including amazing volunteer opportunities, great social events, relationships with community-minded individuals, and of course service to children, seniors, veterans, and the community.

We volunteer. More than 700 hours annually to community service.

We raise funds, 100% of which are directly invested in the community. Over $45,000 in proceeds from our fundraisers support local children and organizations.

We award scholarships. Each year, $7,000 are awarded to high school seniors and college freshman.

We sponsor leadership opportunities for youth with Key Clubs at Canandaigua Academy and Marcus Whitman High School and for adults with disabilities with our Aktion Club at Ontario ARC.

In 2023, some of our service projects and activities included:
  • Holiday party at the Salvation Army with gifts and activities for children and their families
  • Easter Egg Hunt at the Canandaigua Primary/Elementary School with 9,000 Eggs and dozens of gift basket and bicycle giveaways
  • Monthly Senior Bingo with prizes for senior citizens
  • A Kids Carnival with games and prizes for over 200 children and families
  • Outdoor movie nights in the park on a large screen for local families
  • Bike Rodeo for grade school children to learn bicycle safety
  • Development of an Inclusion in Motion playground for children of all abilities
  • Wheelchair Escorting of Veterans to events and revitalization of their Serenity Gardens
  • Over 1,000 bags of candy distributed to children at 2 locations during Halloween

Also in 2023, our fundraising programs supported local organizations like:
  • Safe Harbors of the Finger Lakes
  • Eleven Underserved Children Were Sponsored for Summer Camp at Kamp Kiwanis
  • Ontario Historical Society
  • Family Promise
  • The American Red Cross
  • The Salvation Army
  • Honor Flight
  • Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts
  • The Canandaigua Emergency Squad
  • And Many, Many More!

YES, it is true we do a lot, and we work hard.
BUT, it's fun and it's all worth the effort if we can help children and others in our community.

Don't hesitate to contact us with inquiries, questions, to say hello, or to join us!
